Job Description

Award winning global design consultancy is looking for a consumer focussed design creative director whose career has been spent in the FMCG sector, working on all the big food brands.

This top 10 design agency needs a CD whose expertise lies in branding, who’s able to create outstanding Brand Identities and then take that new look and feel (or existing) across a whole plethora of comms like digital, motion, social print, retail and packaging.

They want a CD who thinks BIG.

Who fully understands the value of assets and storytelling across various touchpoints.

You’ll have experience working not just on local and national brands, but global brands too.

You’ll be working with the ECD to help drive the agency forward, help improve their already high creative standards.

And if you’re one of those CD’s who just can’t sit still, who is pro-active and has a curious nature, you’ll fit right in.

This is a hybrid role with just one day required in the office (but of course, more if you want to).

  • As a member of their Creative Council, you will lead multiple high value projects demonstrating exceptional creativity, intellect, strategic thinking and commercial acumen
  • Build and redefine brand worlds across multiple touchpoints including digital and motion
  • Bring craft, storytelling and strategic intent into everything you do
  • Work at pace; getting up to speed quickly, making decisions in the moment and providing timely and confident direction to the team
  • Develop close working relationships with colleagues in Client Services and Strategy in order to have a commercial understanding and deliver the strategic needs of the client
  • Actively review the team’s delivery and resource management, putting the right resources in place to achieve the desired creative and commercial outcomes
  • Play a key role in new business pitches as the creative lead, helping to drive momentum and delivery beyond brief
  • Lead a highly effective, energetic, and hungry team who are eager to learn from you, moving seamlessly between the roles of leadership, directing and coaching

  • You have previous experience working in a similar Tier 1 strategic, global branding agency across FMCG brands.
  • You have a solid understanding of contemporary brand world developments across multiple touchpoints
  • You are an established Creative Director with a proven track record managing large, complex global projects
  • You are a strategic thinker who can contribute to the development of the overall brand/design strategy
  • You are confident presenting in front of clients
  • You are commercially astute, ensuring projects are delivered to budget

  • You are a natural leader, comfortable at identifying responsibilities and next steps within a team and ensuring everyone has full clarity on the scope of a project
  • You are multidimensional in nature, knowing how big ideas relate to brand success and able to deliver this across any client brief without losing sight of the client’s original ask and objectives
  • You have managed junior design team members, building a positive work environment which encourages growth and out-of-the-box thinking
  • You are a proactive self-starter with a curious nature and have the ability to demonstrate creativity about what’s next for the brand and your clients
  • You are organised and able to make quick and smart decisions
  • You are a natural problem solver

In return for your considerable talent, you will get between £110-120k a year plus the usual perks, including a bonus scheme. If you’re that Designer CD with extensive FMCG experience on big food brands, please press the apply button below and send me your cv AND website link or PDF of work.

NB. Your portfolio will be the reason I call you so please make sure you put a working link to your work on your cv. And if it needs a password, please provide one. If I can’t see your work, I can’t tell if you’re a good fit for the agency. Thank you.
